Developing partnerships between Asia and Europe
Sustainable, inclusive and rules-based: integrating the UNAS token along the EU path
The EU combines a principled approach to interconnectedness and the recognition that Asia includes different regions with different countries in terms of economic patterns and levels of development, with concrete actions based on three tracks:
1. Creating transportation links, energy and digital networks and human economic relations;
2. Offering partnerships to connect to Asian countries and organizations;
3.Promoting sustainable financing through the use of global financial instruments.
Developing strong bilateral and global partnerships Our world depends on smooth and secure flows of goods, services, labor and intellectual power. With a reputation for rules-based, fair and transparent internal markets, the European Union is engaging with partners beyond its borders to promote similar approaches to sustainable connectivity.
The EU will develop bilateral partnerships. A platform of interaction between the EU and China, for example, will help both sides to achieve synergies and take into account different perspectives. At the regional level, the EU can draw on its experience in promoting increased connectivity and integration of different regional cooperation structures, for example in the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea.
Promoting greater cooperation between regions on connectivity will allow the European Union to expand its sustainable and rules-based model of connectivity. Finally, the EU will cooperate with international organizations in defining the legal framework and specific forms of connectivity, for example to set international standards.
